Stage One:

Preparation and Brief

Our first objective is to understand as much about your project as possible, ideally meeting you and your team so we can get to grips with the fundamentals of the project – the scope, the space, the people and the ambitions.

We will then research the latest design thinking around your needs and create a hands on workshop involving clinicians, staff, patients and other service users. We find this opens up the design process, uncovering current challenges and offering creative solutions based on real-life experience.

    Stage Two:

    Design Concepts

Collaboration and feedback with architects, estates teams, project managers and clinicians will inform a finalised brief, outlining the project strategy and scope of the work.

Analysis and collation of data from workshops, examples of industry best practice, academic research and budget requirements will be brought together at this stage.

There may be options which we will work with you to tailor and we may send you sketches, images and visualisations for discussion.

      Stage Three:

      Developed Design

We start work on the full design including 3D visualisations, bespoke furniture designs, interactive elements, lighting, colour palette, materials…

During this stage, the design is developed and refined. 3D software enables us to get a feel for the space including ‘line of sight’, visitor and patient flow, and clinical requirements.

Furniture and fittings are prototyped, materials chosen and technical considerations worked through with M&E contractors, infection control, architects and structural engineers.

      Stage Four:

      Technical Design

Producing a well considered design package requires meticulous attention paid to every detail…

Our design package includes the full 3D visualisations, technical drawings, elevations, colour palette and painting plan, specification drawings for interactive features, flooring, lighting and furniture specifications, and all other relevant information.

At this point, we’ll discuss your construction programme and key deliverable dates, or you may wish to use our package for part of your tendering process.

      Stage Five:

      FABRICATION AND INSTALLATION

Clear communication to produce tangible results…

We can offer total flexibility at this stage, either handing over a design package to your preferred contractors; sourcing contractors to quote, fabricate and install the design; or a mixture of both.

We can liaise with your facilities and estates teams, coordinating site visits, resolving design queries on site, overseeing offsite manufacturing and keeping you updated with progress.

      Stage Six:

      Hand Over/In Use

This is the best bit, the reason we do it…

We work hard to facilitate the handover of a successful project. Snagging is an integral part of our final stage and we will be on hand to answer any last queries to finalise the work on time, and on budget.

Seeing our functioning design, created in collaboration with the people using it everyday is not only deeply rewarding, but we think offers the best outcomes for all involved. Our unique collaborative approach offers you a finished space or product that really has been ‘designed with people in mind’.
