Boex selected for DOTT Cornwall project
 

Boex have been selected as part of a team to work on an exciting project with DOTT Cornwall…the website will be updated with progress.

 

Dott is an innovative programme set up by the which uses design to drive the development of new solutions to UK social and economic challenges and involves communities in designing local services. Dott Cornwall is part of a 10-year programme of events developed by the Design Council that will take place across the UK. 07/01/2010

Chlamydia Interactive
 
 Boex have just designed an interactive to highlight the Chlamydia screening programme within Cornwall. Designed for the out-reach team to take out on the road to use in schools and colleges. The aim of the game is to roll a ball from start to finish without triggering a red light next to the characters.  This game is designed to break down barriers associated with Chlamydia but giving a serious message and initiating conversation between the team and target audience. Letter Bench

We have just finished installing some outdoor seating at a hospital in Bristol. The concept of the bench is in the format of a folded postcard from an actual letter, sent by a patient who stayed at the hospital. The idea is to reassure new patients about the experience they will have during their stay...more info

 

 

Exhibiting at Tent london 24th - 27th September

We will be exhibiting our new furniture products at Tent, London later this week. Pop in and come and say hello if you are passing. We are showing 2 new pieces this year 'Easy Willow' and 'Turn Stool'

 

 

NHS Interactive

 We are currently working with a team from Cornwall Chlamydia Screening Service to develop an interactive for 15 -24 year olds to raise awareness and increase knowledge of Chlamydia.

 
 

First Outdoor Gym for the national Trust

Boex have been awarded a contract to design and develop a series of five outdoor exercise stations for Penrose Estate, Cornwall. The materials used will be sourced from the estate reducing the impact of transportation and improving sustainability of the final product.

 

Sam and Will go back to School

Sam and Will help out at Trannack School, assisting puplis to develop their 3D design skills for the up and coming charity secret art sale to be held at Trevarno Estate.

 

New furniture products for September

 Boex are currently of designing some contemporary furniture products to be launched at Tent this September. Sustainability is key to the design, using locally sourced materials and traditional fabrication processes. 20/07/2009

 

Pencil Bench gets around

This pencil bench has been flown and couriered around to various exhibitions over the past 3 months it's now arrived back in one piece. Here’s a photo of the crate it went in! 18/07/2009

 

 

 Thank you letter seating for hospital

Boex have won a contact to design seating for the entrance area of FrenchayHospital, Bristol. Using the words from a thank you letter, we have designed a simple bench which mimics a postcard, with the words sandblasted into the bench. Adding sense of community and reassuring patients as they enter the hospital. 22/06/2009

 

 

Pencil bench on its way to D&AD

We have just been commissioned by D&AD to produce a pencil bench for New Blood 2009 due to take place at Olympia from 29 June to 2 July. It will be used for the event and then take pride of place in their London offices as well as being used for future events. 2/06/2009

 

 

Pencil Bench Takes Flight...

We've had such an overwhelming response to the Pencil Bench internationally. Currently we have them scattered around the UK and Europe with one sitting in a restaurant in Paris. On Monday the first bench hits American soil for a client in New York. 1/06/2009

 

Electric Blue Gallery

We are currently exihibiting the Pencil Bench at the Electric blue Gallery untill July 7th with other artists such as Von : Cocoon a london based illustrator, Whilst working primarily as a commercial artist Von has begun to build a reputation for his gallery work having exhibited in such prestigious venues as The London Design Museum and Agnes B. Frenchay Hospital

Boex 3D Creative Solutions is currently working on an innovative refurbishment for the Frenchay Hospital A&E department in Bristol – see the visuals below. We have added a playful element to the children's waiting area, while keeping the main reception area visually clean and simple with bespoke seating. The timber reception area has been carefully designed to improve security to staff working within the area.
