Childrens Sensory Interactives

We were asked to design the interiors of three children’s care homes. The short break service provides support to adults and young people with complex learning difficulties and disabilities. Working with staff and the end users we set up a series of workshops that focussed on their needs and requirements. Understanding how the healthcare environments are currently used and how they were going to be used in the future was key to the design of the sensory environment. It was important to limit the amount of disruption to staff and patients, yet create simple elements that improved wellbeing and staff efficiency.
