Beer and Bird
Taking on this unconventional first-floor venue in the heart of the bustling seaside town of St Ives, our client wanted to create an honest and authentic bar and restaurant providing high quality fried chicken and the best craft beers on the market. We set about creating an interior to reflect this ethos and strengthen the brand through an exciting physical space. Two birds, one stone.
From framing the extensive array of beers and spirits on offer to creating a cosy seating area around the fire, our design concept focused on an intimate, warm and timeless gathering place that would still feel current in years to come. With exposed red brick walls and large structural beams, using reclaimed wood, steel, brass and concrete –as well as a naturally stained, large, blackened timber bar – celebrating raw, simple materials was always at the heart of our approach. The welcoming feel and textures continue through the project with industrial pendant lighting, Parisian-style wall sconces and leather wing back seats clustered around the open fire. The final result? An inviting space that we hope will entice people back time and time again.
